    If you have been using Klaviyo to send emails to your guests, you already know how powerful it is. Segmentation, automation, beautiful templates, and detailed analytics. The platform is genuinely great.

    The problem, for most independent hotels, is what goes into it.

    Most hotel operators are either manually uploading guest lists, copying and pasting booking data, or relying on a third-party OTA to feed their marketing tool information that was never really theirs to begin with. The result is email marketing that is disconnected from what is actually happening at the property. Generic sequences. Stale data. Missed moments.

    Hotelia and Klaviyo are now connected

    Starting today, every Hotelia subscriber can connect their Klaviyo account directly inside the Hotelia platform. Once connected, your guest profiles and booking events flow from Hotelia into Klaviyo automatically, in real time, with no manual exports and no third-party tools in between.

    What syncs

    Guest Profiles

    Every guest record in Hotelia becomes a profile in Klaviyo. Name, email, phone number, booking source (direct or OTA), total number of stays, and last stay date. Your Klaviyo lists stay current without you lifting a finger.

    Booking Events

    Hotelia fires an event to Klaviyo every time something meaningful happens at your property:

    • Booking Created
    • Booking Cancelled
    • Guest Checked In
    • Guest Checked Out
    • Upsell Purchased

    Each event carries the reservation details with it: check-in and check-out dates, room type, length of stay, booking value, and upsell item. These events are what power smart, timely automations in Klaviyo.


    What you can build with it

    Once your data is flowing, the real opportunity opens up. Here are a few examples of what Hotelia hotel operators can now build inside Klaviyo with zero manual effort:

    Pre-arrival upsell sequence

    Three days before check-in, send a personalized email offering a room upgrade, early check-in, or any add-on you have set up through Hotelia's upsell feature. Triggered automatically by the Booking Created event.

    Check-in day welcome

    A simple, warm message that goes out the morning of arrival. Directions, parking, WiFi, whatever your guests need. Triggered by the Guest Checked In event.

    Post-stay thank you and review request

    Send a follow-up the day after checkout, thanking the guest and inviting them to leave a review or book directly next time. Triggered by the Guest Checked Out event.

    OTA to direct winback campaign

    Segment your Klaviyo list by booking source. Guests who came through an OTA the first time get a targeted sequence reminding them that booking direct means a better rate, direct communication, and perks you can only offer outside the OTA. This is one of the highest ROI automations an independent hotel can run.

    Loyalty and repeat guest recognition

    Use the total stays property to segment guests who have stayed two or more times and send them something that makes them feel like regulars. A handwritten note style email, a loyalty discount, and early access to dates. The kind of hospitality that makes people choose you again.

    Why we built it this way

    We could have built a native email tool inside Hotelia. We chose not to.

    Klaviyo is exceptional at what it does, and independent hotel operators deserve access to world class marketing infrastructure without having to pay for a custom enterprise tool or learn a brand new platform. Our job is to make sure your property data is clean, real time, and accessible. Klaviyo's job is to help you turn that data into revenue.

    This integration is the bridge between the two.

    It also reflects something we believe deeply at Hotelia. Independent hotels should not have to choose between great operations software and great marketing software. You should be able to have both, connected, working together, on a platform built for properties like yours.


    What comes next

    This is version 1.0 of the Klaviyo integration. It covers the core sync and the booking events that matter most. We are already planning deeper functionality, including two-way sync, list management from inside Hotelia, and flow templates built specifically for independent hotel operators, so you can go from connected to running in a single afternoon.
