Hotelia is live: launching at the Independent Hotel Show Miami

Two hotel owners walked up to our booth and said the words I will never forget. Hotelia is officially live.

At the Independent Hotel Show in Miami, two hotel owners walked up to our booth and said, “we came here looking for you.”

I will never forget that moment.

They are a small team of five, still running everything themselves. They remodeled a beautiful boutique hotel, opened for bookings on Wix, and they handle their own check-ins, their own marketing, their own housekeeping. Exactly the kind of operator I built Hotelia for.

Then they told me what was slowing them down.

Their booking page was a mess. They have a lot of the same room types, so guests were scrolling through a long, repetitive page just to book a night. Housekeeping was all manual and tracked nowhere, so they were always reacting instead of staying ahead. They wanted a smooth, automated check-in with digital door codes, but they were still emailing and texting every single arrival by hand. And they had no way to sell packages or add-ons, like theater tickets, even though their guests would have loved them.

I listened, and the whole time I was thinking, we can fix every one of these.

A clean booking flow, even when you have lots of similar rooms. Housekeeping that updates itself as stays turn over. Automated check-in with digital codes sent for you. Add-ons and packages a guest can buy right inside the booking.

These operators came to Miami looking for a way to run their hotel without losing the experience they had worked so hard to build for their guests.

That is the whole reason Hotelia exists.

We launched in person on purpose

We launched Hotelia in person, over two days, and we did it on purpose.

This is hospitality. The whole industry runs on trust, on meeting face to face, on knowing how to make someone feel welcome. It would not have felt right to launch a product for hoteliers from behind a screen. So we built our booth as a lobby and welcomed people in, the same way we want their hotels to welcome guests.

It set the tone for everything. People walked into a conversation.

    Why I built this

I started out managing Marriott brands, and I worked nearly every role along the way. Front desk, housekeeping, social hour, all the way up to running the whole operation. If there was a job in the building, I probably did it at some point.

Here is what all those years taught me. Guests remember how they are received when they walk through the door.

And too often, that moment gets lost. At check-in, the front desk is staring at a screen instead of the guest, hunting for a room while the guest just stands there waiting. That moment could have gone to welcoming them, learning their name, telling them about happy hour at six in the lobby. Instead it goes to the software.

So I built something to protect that moment. A tool that carries the operational load for an operator who is already wearing a dozen hats, so they never have to take off the most important one. Their social hat.

    What the room taught us

Being in a room full of the exact people we built this for taught us more in two days than months behind a laptop could.

I met an owner who had taken over the family business and was rebuilding it from the ground up. I met a general manager shopping for a booking engine and a PMS that actually talk to each other, which is exactly what Hotelia is. Over and over, operators told me that comprehensive reporting was the thing that finally pushed them to start looking for something new, and reporting is built into Hotelia from day one, right alongside your Stripe reporting.

We also heard something loud and clear, and I want to be honest about it. Distribution still matters to everyone. We help you optimize and convert the guests who come to your own site, and getting more of your guests through the door is the next thing we are building toward. We are not done, and we are listening.

The operators we met were serious about their guest experience, and they were qualified. Many of them were still running things by hand, or fighting with a stack of tools that do not talk to each other. That is exactly the knot Hotelia untangles. We are already following up with several of them, and I could not be more excited about who we get to work with next.

    Hotelia is officially live

As of September 16, Hotelia is officially live.

We built it because independent hotel owners deserve to keep more of what they earn, and to earn more on every single booking.

Here is what that actually looks like.

You take bookings directly from your own website, with upsells built right into the flow, zero commission, and payments that land straight in your account through Stripe. Behind the scenes, Hotelia runs the operation for you. Automated tasks, housekeeping that keeps itself current, and built-in analytics for occupancy, RevPAR, and daily revenue broken down by room and by upsell. Everything you need on day one, without weeks of complicated onboarding.

This is for the new generation of hoteliers. The ones who want to give their guests an easy, smooth stay, create real memories, and build their own brand on their own terms.

As life gets more digital, independent hotels have the advantage. Your spaces are the destination.

So if any of this sounds like your hotel, come find us. We are here for you.

Hotelia is live now, with a 30-day free trial and free onboarding. We will set your property up with you, at no cost. Start your free trial today, or book a one-on-one demo with me. I would love to meet you.
